Hiatus

An estuary at low tide - blue sky, fluffy white clouds, mudbanks, greenery

Record shot from near Hale Lighthouse of the white-tailed eagle’s location on the banks of the Mersey 220623

When I started this blog in June 2022, I questioned whether the world really needed another one. I had also seen blogs that had been started but not updated for a while, and I didn’t want this one to go the same way, with no public acknowledgement of an ending – permanent or temporary.

So, this post – more of a brief note – is to explain that, although I’ve found inspiration in nature and elsewhere that has kept me writing weekly (or thereabouts) for 12 months, it is time for a hiatus. This may be very short or it may not. At the moment, I feel that if the recent sighting of a white-tailed eagle on the banks of the Mersey couldn’t inspire a post, then it really is time for a break!

Thank you and best wishes to the people who have read and enjoyed these posts. Keep on loving and protecting nature in whatever ways you can – and remember:

“And the only measure of your words and your deeds
Will be the love you leave behind when you’re done.”

(Everything is Possible, written by Fred Small and as heard sung by Roy Bailey.)
